“We hope you come to this event that is designed to raise funds and give hope to those that need it so much,” said Dale Kaye, founder of Music and Miracles, Inc. “We all know someone that has suffered from cancer or perhaps not survived it. This afternoon of music can be enjoyed by you and your donations will go towards the betterment of another’s life.”
Music & Miracles, formed in 2008, is a nonprofit whose mission is to raise funds to donate to individuals that have financial needs due to their battles with cancer. The organization realizes that cancer treatment leaves many people with loss of income, increased household costs and, in some cases, the inability to be mobile enough to perform the everyday duties of life. This nonprofit donates proceeds directly to cancer survivors in the hopes of helping to ease their transition from battling cancer to a more normal life-style.
“I chose to perform this concert because Music & Miracles gives a glimmer of hope to people who are dealing with cancer,” said Gargano. “They are a beautiful organization that individuals can lean on. This benefit is in honor of cancer survivors, those that are deceased due to cancer, and all those that have been touched by cancer.” The concert will debut songs from Closing in on Forever, a new musical composed by Gargano and John Ringo of the Colchester Civic Orchestra, Choir & Jazz Band. The musical is about love, life, dealing with pancreatic cancer, and hope. Gargano was inspired to write it after his father and best friend passed away from pancreatic cancer. Both his wife and sister-in-law are survivors of breast cancer.
Gargano has been singing since the age of twelve and paying the piano since the age of fourteen. The music compilation that he selected includes songs that inspire, speak of hope, and relate to the tribulations cancer impacts on lives. One of the songs will be dedicated to Patrick Swayze’s wife. The final song of the afternoon will be “Keep Me in Your Heart,” composed by Warren Zevon who died from lung cancer. To experience this concert, attend the event!
About Music & Miracles
Music & Miracles Mission Statement
Music and Miracles was incorporated in 2008 as a 501c3 non-profit corporation. Our mission is to raise funds to be donated to individuals who are in financial need due to their battle with cancer. As many of us know, cancer can strike in many forms and can require numerous follow-up surgeries and rehabilitation even for those who have survived their initial cancer treatments. This leaves many people with loss of income, increased household costs and, in some cases, the inability to be mobile enough to perform the everyday duties of life. These people are living in our own communities and hometowns and we want to help them as best we can.
Our method of raising funds is to stage an annual music festival, the net proceeds of which we are able to donate to needy recipients in the form of money, goods or services. Last year at our inaugural event, we were able to raise $15,000 to benefit a single mother who is a breast cancer survivor and was facing reconstructive surgery to remove an infection that occurred during her initial surgeries and who also owns her own business. We plan on building on this success every year, but we need your help.
Thank you all for contributing to Music & Miracles and helping us to reach out to those who are suffering the debilitating and financial cost effects of cancer.
Sincerely,
Dale M. Kaye
Executive Director
2008 Inaugural Event
